The holidays can put us in awkward situations with people who have hurt us. It can produce anxiety to just think about being around them. Maybe they have said hurtful things that you have taken to heart.

Remember, you have the choice to believe or discredit what someone says is true about you. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

And remember, we don’t have to believe everything we think. We all have many thoughts, but we can choose to let go of the ones that aren’t true. Only latch on to those that hold truth.

And how can you know what is true and what is not? Look in the Bible at who God says you are: holy, righteous, redeemed, loved, chosen, and much more.

One of the simplest prayers is, “Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.” God will answer your prayer if you keep seeking Him with your whole heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)

So, every time you see the word BELIEVE this season, remember to believe the truth of who God says you are. You have much value to Him—so much that He sent His one and only son, Jesus, into your mess so that you might believe in Him and have life to the full.

What will you believe today?
